&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;Lyft had a very specific media buy in Brooklyn, open brief, ideas in two days. My partner and I noticed everyone in Brooklyn was panicking about the L Train shutting down. We proposed Lyft become part of the solution (and conversation) by dropping the “L” from the logo. We liked it, so did Brooklyn, Buzzfeed and the OBIES. We won gold.

&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;When you count up all the ways to be you, and you look at the limited choices of boxes to tick on most forms, the answer was, simply, “Two is Too Few.” And we blew this party out.
We wanted to be sensitive to rainbow washing, so we showed up different, reflected the beautiful blend of the queer identity and continued the concept of less boundaries and boxes.
We built floats with a holographic shimmer and a dichroic finish (look it up - because, the more you know). We worked with non-binary photographer Alex Kacha to glamorize, and normalize, those who normally don’t get the spotlight. Printed off zines with art and words from queer leaders including Alok Vaid-Menon. And we partnered with our in-house UX/IX teams to provide pronoun choices in the Lyft app. Finally, we partnered with Sasha Velour for an unforgettable, kickass drag event. EPIC!

&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; Lyft was about to launch a membership product, which they were going to call - wait for it - the Lyft Membership Plan.First, we partnered/collaborated with product and design to find a recommendation that would work in-product, and out in the world. Introducing... Lyftpink.Then we took the tittle from the “i” in pink, put it in a blender with Baldessari, and a few hits of acid, and created a “what the hell is going on, I must google this” out-of-home teaser campaign and launch party.We then heard the product was too successful. We like hearing that.

&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; Lyft underwent a brand refresh and I lead the animation portion of our refreshed brand guidelines. The focus was scalibity and speed. I designed and animated layouts, lock ups, button treatments, type animation presets, transitions, templates in both After Effects and Premiere, logo animations, and written documentation to help Lyft content creators get moving quickly.

	No one ever talks about the butt visible in the logo. Once you see the booty jiggle, you cannot unsee it. (Final logo animation)


&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; Type presets were developed. The animations were inspired the movement of ridesharing. They needed to evoke the quirky, playful personality of Lyft while remaining simple and read quickly.

All templates came in 16x9, 9x16 and 1x1 formats optimized for social. Pieces were easily updated and edited with other content to help fascilitate production.
