Banner ads, IG ads, FB ads, carousels, direct response, CTR, impressions, ads on top of ads inside of ads. For some, these ads are the bane of designer existence. More often than not, you're asked to shove as much content in as cramped a small space as physically possible. It's easy for designers to get lazy, to work for quantity above quality. I try and view them as digital versions of graffiti...applauding brands breaking conventional banner ad rules and treating them in a more punk rock way. For this series, I reimagine banner ads as swiss posters as a reminder to myself that if my material can look good in a Swiss poster format, they should be able to look good in 300x250 or I'm not working hard enough.
